This site has been established in memory of Teal Fausett.  Teal was an extraordinary young girl whose life ended tragically on Christmas night, 2002.  The car she was riding in crashed....the driver was under the influence of drugs.  Teal was a senior in high school and only 17 years old.

The death of any child is tragic.  Deaths that involve alcohol or drugs are tragic and senseless.  I have created this site for several different reasons.  The direction may change slightly from time to time as I will be continuously looking for feedback.   As a starting point, I look to accomplish the following:

1)  To make sure Teal and other children who have lost their lives at the hands of drugs or alcohol are never forgotten.

2)  I hope this site will be viewed by teens in such a way that they will realize they are not invincible.  It sounds cliche', but if any of the stories on this site have an effect on just one teen, it will be well worth the time and effort.

3)  To give the survivors a place to share their story.   The pain of losing a child, brother, sister, grandchild, friend or classmate is nearly unbearable.   This site will allow the child's name to live on and will hopefully, in some way, be of help to others.

4)  To increase the social, political and legislative awareness of the devastating impact of these types of deaths in hopes of reducing future occurences and increasing penalties for those adults that enable the use of alcohol/drugs by minors and for those of all ages who choose to drive.
